Amon Amarth, Twilight of The Thunder God U.S. Tour 2

I grew out a beard in honor of this concert. My favorite band is Amon Amarth and this was my first time seeing them. The day was April 9th 2010 and my usual concert crew and I set out for SF to see these viking lords. Other bands on the list were Eluveitie and Fear Factory. After changing are parking spot, do to the fact that the car next to us had its windows smashed in we went to the Regency Ballroom. The turn up for Eluveitie was quite depressing, but whatever more space for us to enjoy this awesome folk metal band from Switzerland. They are by far one of the most interesting bands to see live, I mean mandolins, flutes and bigpipes in metal! Fucking amazing! They played there best of songs such as newly releashed Thousandfold and my favorite Anis Mona. They ended the set with a jig, ive never seen two giant men do a jig before until then.
We expected Fear Factory to be next and we could afford to miss their intro so we went up to the balcony and chilled there for awhile. Little did we know Amon Amarth was next up. We were confused when we heard the intro for Twilight of the Thunder God and Johan Hegg hidden in the mist with a jolly smile. My friend took off to the main floor with the speed of lightning and we followed after. I had never been so happy in my entire life. Amon Amarth played a epic set consisting of Valhalla Awaits Me, Tattered Banners Bloody Flags, Death In Fire, Guardians of Asgard, Pursuit of Viking and much more! Johan Hegg was by far the most lively singer Ive ever seen live. He just put a smile on your face! The bassist Ted was not able to show up, do to the fact that his new born son arrived the night before but the replacement was just as good. I was honored to battle in the pits for Oden and Amon Amarth!
Next was Fear Factory, I occasionally listen to them but I was kindve pissed at them for taking the last show of the night. SF was the only spot on the tour where they were playing so I guess that's why they went after Amon Amarth but whatever. They played a great show and I enjoyed it, they had some pretty crazy pits and wasted women assaulted us. We left early with ears ringing and Oden by our side.
